Dear Families,

This week students are starting to work on their 4th grade blogs.  The links have been uploaded to the "Student Blogs" tab at the top of this page. Students will begin by picking themes for their blogs, creating an All About Me page and creating avatars.  They will also be learning about internet safety (using the grade 3-5 presentation found on Netsmartz.org) and creating their first post about what they are thankful for.  Next week they will learn to comment appropriately and meaningfully on other people's blogs.  Take a look at the site: Student Blogging Challenge to see what students will be working on.  There is also a nice introduction video to blogging on the page.

It was nice meeting with so many of you last week!

Dear Families,

The Travelers have earned their reward for being safe, respectful, and responsible and have opted to have a technology afternoon before Comic Con tomorrow.  We have discussed that students need your permission to bring in different devices and have talked about making good (following school expectations) choices about what to do on those devices.

On Monday, Pick-a-time will open for conferences (November 20th and 21st).  I look forward to discussing your student's progress with you. I will also be sending home a parent input form on Monday so that you can share with me topics or concerns that you would like to make sure we get to talk about during our conference.

Make sure to check out our twitter feed (linked on the right side of this blog) for pictures and frequent updates on what we are doing in class.
