January 11th
Dear Families,
A letter was sent home today regarding our upcoming research assignment. All fourth graders in Lighthouse will be working on this task. We would love it if you can take time to talk to your child about topics they would like to research and present on. They should also be thinking about a project that they would like to create (in addition to the informational piece of writing they will be doing). This could be, though is not limited to, a life size diagram, a poster, a diorama, or a google slides presentation. Ideas should be turned in this Friday. We would like to invite you to join us Friday, February 3rd, 9:00-10:00 to share in all of their hard work.
Students have been working on learning three methods of multiplication. Check out this picture to see how how different math is today versus when we were in school. Students may choose whichever method they are most comfortable with when it comes to solving problems in class and on assessments.
Last, but not least, the students have been working hard at following classroom expectations and have earned technology time on Friday afternoon. There will be chromebooks available at school for students who choose not to bring a device from home.
I hope to see you early next month.
Miss Taylor
